The methodology and use of specialized tools is key to the safety of both the First Responders and the victims who may be trapped in a wrecked vehicle. The vehicle could move or continue to roll over while the department members are rendering first aid or extricating a victim. Speed is always a concern in effecting a rescue, but safety for all involved is also a high priority.
