01/31/25. 10:54am MVFD was dispatched with Carmel Police Department, NY to South Lake Blvd for a reported commercial structure fire.

MVFD Chief Car 18-1-3 arrived on scene and had heavy smoke coming from the front door, and filled out the box for a 1st alarm structure fire assignment.
Filling out the assignment brought in Yorktown Heights Volunteer FD as the Fast Team, Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services Battalion 16 and placed Mahopac Falls Vol. Fire Department on standby in their headquarters.

Further investigation showed the fire was contained to items in one dryer and cause a very heavy smoke condition in the structure as well as the adjoining business.

Companies quickly extinguished the contents and ventilated the structure. Companies remained on scene for approximately 1 hour before opening up South Lake Blvd to traffic.
